Dr. Jack D. Lattin

lattinj2.jpg

Dr. Jack Lattin was for many years the Director and Curator of OSAC - then called the Systematic Entomology Laboratory (SEL). Dr. Lattin is both a skilled taxonomist and a charismatic gentleman. Under his guidance, the collection expanded both its holdings and its sphere of influence. Dr. Lattin was adept at forging bridges between the collection to other agencies both on and off campus that stood to benefit from OSAC's holdings. It was Dr. Lattin who oversaw the accessions of the three large special collections: the H.J.Andrews Experimental Forest Collection, the Western Forest Insect Collection and the Melville Harrison Hatch Collection. Dr. Lattin continues his systematic research on the Heteroptera today and is an active and honored member of the collection's curatorial staff.
